Soy slices in extra hot tomato sauce

This happened again! I didn't plan on making a recipe. I just wanted to cook a tasty and healthy dinner for me and my love. But the sauce was SO delicious, I just had to take a picture of it and try to remember how I made this dish. It is pretty spicy, but you can change the chili powder amount as you want. I served this sauce with boiled buckwheat, raw cabbage and beet salad and leftover soy mince-rice loaf. Really delicious and healthy! PS! I almost always add some ground cinnamon to the tomato sauce, it makes it more mild and even more tasty.

3-4 people

  • about 160 g dried soy slices
  • 1 l tomato juice (I had the one with salt in it)
  • 3-4 tbsp vegan cream
  • 3 tsp brown sugar
  • 1-2 tsp vegetable stock powder or some salt
  • 2 tbsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 0,5-1 tsp extra hot chili powder
  • 0,5 tsp ground cinnamon

Take a pot, put the dried soy slices in it and pour the tomato sauce over the slices. When the tomato juice starts to boil, add all the other ingredients, mix well and boil for a couple of minutes on high heat. Now put on the lid and let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes on low heat. Remove the heat and serve.
